The exercise has been closed

The multinational Nordic Peace 2003 exercise ended on September 19, 2003. A total of about 2700 soldiers and civilian participated in the exercise. The key issue of the exercise was to promote interoperability and civil-military cooperation in international Peace Support operations. A number of international and domestic organizations participated in the exercise as well.

Minister of Defence Kääriäinen: ”No troops to Iraq”

On his visit to Säkylä on Wednesday, September 17th, Minister of Defence Seppo Kääriäinen emphasized that Finland is not preparing to send troops to Iraq. According to the minister the matter will be considered only, if the UN Security Council makes such a decision.

Plane Crash – the Worst Nightmare

UN plane is ordered to transport refugees back to Hundland. The plane was supposed to land on an emergency landing strip on the highway, but the captain makes a mistake and chooses a wrong road, too narrow for the big plane; Plane crash is inevitable.
